TAX POLICY AND BUDGET PROGRAM - VOTE 1202

The Office of the Budget and Taxation program advises and assists the Minister of Finance and the Government in formulating the Ontario Budget and other major economic/fiscal documents. This function includes tax, pension and income security policy development and legislation, inter-governmental taxation, and quantitative research and analysis to identify broad economic and fiscal implications of specific tax policies and emerging trends and developments. The Office is also responsible for facilitating the Ministers oversight of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, and manages the governments Deposit Return Program for beverage alcohol containers.
