New Returns and Schedules

  • As of April 2010, new standard returns and associated schedules will be available. The first of the new returns will be sent out in April and will include detailed information on how to complete them.
  • The new standardized returns and associated schedules have addressed many of the administrative concerns that have been highlighted by the industry. By streamlining many of the existing processes for monthly reporting we have made it faster and easier for you to comply with the Ministry of Finance's reporting requirements.

Online Services

  • ONT-TAXS online is Ontario's secure, convenient and free online tax service for businesses and their representatives. It saves time and money, reduces paper and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • View up to four years of account history.
  • File returns and make tax payments online.
  • Update account information (e.g., address or trade name change).
  • Grant employees or representatives (such as an accountant or bookkeeper) access to ONT-TAXS online.
  • Submit a refund request and track its status.
  • View mail - view copies of correspondence with the ministry.
  • Web Messages - an e-mail like function that allows authorized Ministry of Finance staff and tax clients or their representatives to correspond. These messages can be viewed by the tax client or representative in ONT-TAXS online.
  • Getting started is fast and easy! View a demo and/or register by visiting ontario.ca/finance (enter webpage number 2587 into the ‘Find page' field at the bottom of the website) or call the numbers below.

One Business Number (BN)

  • Ontario has joined the federal government and other provinces in using the Business Number to securely identify a business and its associated tax accounts.
  • One number enables easier access for Ontario businesses as the BN is the only number required to access information about your government accounts.
  • An Ontario tax identifier will be added to the client's nine digit number for Ontario tax programs. This extension combines two letters to identify the province and the program and four numerals to indicate the number of accounts in each tax program. Example: 123456789 TG0001
