Changing the Jurisdiction of an Ontario Corporation
A corporation incorporated under the Ontario Business Corporations Act that wishes to continue in another jurisdiction must fax a written request for a Consent to Continue to the Client Services Branch at the Ministry of Finance, at 905 433-5418.
When the corporation receives the Consent to Continue letter from the Ministry of Finance, it must forward it to the Ministry of Government Services along with the application form, other documentation and required fee as specified by the Ministry of Government Services. The Client Services Branch within the Ministry of Finance will issue the Consent to Continue once the following conditions are satisfied:
- the corporation is in full compliance with Ontario tax statutes,
- the corporation is not currently under audit, and
- there is no outstanding Notice of Objection filed by the corporation.
