Changes Mean More Jobs For Ontario

Economist and tax expert Jack Mintz states that a harmonized sales tax combined with Ontario's corporate income tax rate reductions and other recent tax changes will significantly increase jobs, boost capital investment and lead to higher annual incomes for Ontarians.

Canadian Council of Chief Executives

"Any tax reform initiative must be managed carefully, but the bottom line is that sales tax harmonization will strengthen Ontario's competitiveness, attract new investment and improve job opportunities for workers throughout the province."

- Thomas d'Aquino, Chief Executive and President (2009)

Toronto Board of Trade

"The Toronto Board of Trade has long advocated for this reform, which will substantially lower the cost of doing business and put the province on a path towards increased competitiveness and productivity and will generate more high-value added jobs."

- Carol Wilding, President & CEO (2009)

Public Policy at the University of Calgary

"The Budget measures will have a profound impact on the willingness of business to invest in Ontario. The much lower tax burden on capital in the province will affect not only its competitiveness but also that of Canada as a whole."
