The Ontario Energy and Property Tax Credit payment is part of the Open Ontario Plan. This plan is helping create jobs and enhance the programs and services that Ontarians value, like education and health care.
The credit is designed to help eligible families and single people with the sales tax on
energy costs and with property taxes. For the first time, the credit will be paid in four
instalments starting with this payment and is based on your 2010 personal income tax return.
