Dear Stakeholder:
In 2003, our government implemented a series of automobile insurance reforms that resulted in lower insurance rates, increased availability of auto insurance, and enhanced protection of consumers.
The Insurance Act includes a mandatory review of the automobile insurance provisions every five years. The first such review under this process has been launched by the Superintendent of Financial Services and CEO of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO), Mr. Bob Christie. Enclosed is a letter from the Superintendent seeking your input and submissions to this review process and setting out possible issues to comment on.
As an active party and stakeholder in the auto insurance system, I am writing to invite you to participate in this review process. With your involvement, I know we can build on the changes we have already implemented to further improve the automobile insurance system for all Ontarians.
Yours sincerely,

Wayne Arthurs
Parliamentary Assistant to the
Minister of Finance
