A Consultation Draft of Amendments to the Ontario Securities Act
The Ministry of Finance invites your comments on a Consultation Draft of proposed amendments to the Securities Act.
The government, in collaboration with the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), has developed proposed legislative changes to update and streamline registration requirements that apply to securities regulation.
This proposed legislation was drafted to provide enhanced protection for investors and to accommodate consistent rules across Canada for dealers, advisors and investment fund managers.
Any statutory amendments will become law only if they are passed by the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
These proposed amendments should be reviewed in conjunction with Proposed National Instrument 31-103 Registration Requirements, Proposed Companion Policy 31-103CP and Proposed Consequential Amendments published for comment by the OSC on February 29, 2008.

We are interested in hearing the views of investors, businesses, the investment industry and other capital market participants on the Consultation Draft.
